Thank You!!!

Posted in: Mommy Diaries

Just want to say a big THANK YOU to everybody who participated in the ‘12 Hours of Christmas’ for Victory Junction. It was a huge success and we could not have done it without you. I am happy to say we raised around 19 thousand dollars, and when I say WE, I mean to all you guys who chipped in and made it happen. You can still donate money to the camp by going to 987simon.com. All the information is up about the camp, their website, and how you can become a volunteer! Just so you know, none of the families pay for their children to go to camp or transportation. The camp covers EVERYTHING. That is huge. Can you imagine how grateful these families are to people like you that have made this possible. Thank you again sooooo much from the bottom of my heart…GREAT JOB! As always, make it a good one! Carmen

Christmas is Almost Here!

Posted in: Mommy Diaries

Ok, so I’m just now getting started on Christmas shopping or at least writing my list. Also, I just remembered Christmas cards!!! I’ve got to pull out that book with all the addresses I send once a year (I always lose it and go crazy trying to find it!)…you know what I’m talking about…and now that I have a child, I must send pictures. You know that one Aunt you see once a year wants to put it on the fridge. This is the first year I can actually think of what to ask for. Now that I’m a mommy, I know one thing that I’ve never had that will change my life…a Crockpot!!! I spend so much time cooking the night before and hours in the kitchen…I can throw it in a Crockpot and there ya have it. Now, I just need some recipes to actually make something tasty. I’m thinking practical this year, not only for me but for other people as well. Well, if you consider wine practical also…that’s on my list for my girlfriends. It’s their sanity in a bottle! I’ve got these cute wine bags that say ‘Skip the cookie… go for the wine’. I know my best friend will be so thankful! So, my goal is to have all my Christmas shopping done before Christmas Eve. I have been guilty of that so many times…and let me tell you…there are a lot of men going bananas! Ha-ha…It’s a spectacle. So, I promise this year to get everything done by December 23rd…wrapped and all. Let’s see if this really happens. As always, make it a good one! Carmen

Brenner’s Children Hospital Toy Run

Posted in: Mommy Diaries

Brenner’s Children Hospital Toy Run – Harley-Davidson of Greensboro is hosting their 12th annual motorcycle ride to benefit Brenner’s Children Hospital. It is taking place this Saturday, December 5th, and the ride will leave from the Harley Store in Greensboro. If you would like to ride or stop by and drop off a new, unwrapped toy, registration starts at noon this Saturday. It cost $10 dollars (proceeds go to Brenner’s Children Hospital) OR bring a new, unwrapped toy. The ride will leave at 1:30 and will be escorted straight to the hospital in Winston Salem. The event will be rain or shine, so pull out your big jackets! After the ride there will be an after party at the Steel Horse Saloon, located next door to the Harley-Davidson of Greensboro. They will be providing a BBQ chicken lunch with all the fixings for those who participated in the ride. There are usually between 100-350 bikes on the run each year. The children who are in the hospital all line up in the windows facing the highway and watch the ride come up the highway and get off at their exit. It is truly incredible! These toys are a gift for the children all year long, so even if you cannot ride… stop by a Harley-Davidson store any time this week and drop off a new, unwrapped toy. Have fun for a great cause! If you would like more information, call the Harley store in Greensboro. Mark the owner will be more than happy to answer any questions. As always, make it a good one. Carmen
