Just a positive note for the week…found these great ways to be happy and stay happy! Enjoy

1. Be grateful

A study had people write letters of gratitude to people who had helped them in some way. The study found that the people reported having more happiness over weeks and even months after writing the letters. What’s even more surprising is that sending the letter wasn’t even necessary. People still said they felt better even when they wrote letters but never delivered them.

2. Be optimistic People were asked to visualize an ideal future, for example, living with a loving and supportive partner, or finding a job that was fulfilling. They were then told to describe their image in a journal entry. After doing that for a few weeks, people also said they had higher feelings of well-being.

3. Count your blessings People who practice writing down three good things that have happened to them every week show big boosts in happiness. It seems that the act of focusing on the positive helps people remember reasons to be glad.

4. Use your strengths Another study asked people to identify their greatest strengths and then to try to use these strengths in new ways. For example, someone who says they have a good sense of humor could try telling jokes to lighten up business meetings or cheer up sad friends. That seemed to help happiness.

5. Commit acts of kindness It turns out helping others also helps us. People who donate time or money to charity, or who help people in need have improvements in their own happiness.

The whole John Mayer issue…I think he just talks to hear himself talk. If you are out of the loop, he made some really inappropriate comments in an interview recently. I really do not think he is racist, but he has no filter. There is at least ‘some’ standard that people in the public eye should practice. I believe in free speech and speaking your mind, but useless comments with no value are simply ignorant. We talked about it on the radio this morning and there were mixed reviews. Here’s the deal…every interview I have heard him on or read, he for the majority makes absolutely no sense. Sometimes I think he is going for shock value, but now I’m starting to think he is mentally disturbed. Ok, we all have our demons…we all have some sort of mental state…but he went too far this time. Maybe I don’t get his sense of humor and it is hard for me to believe that somebody as polished as Jennifer Aniston would ever date him. Really?

To even use the ‘N’ word in any context is extremely insulting and hurtful. The same goes for ANY other slang/hateful words that refer to any race or culture. Did he realize what he was saying was being published? I’m sure after this little episode he will not be pulling hot Hollywood chicks like he was before. I would be embarrassed to date someone like that. Ohhh…and to top it off, he also insulted the gay community. Certain groups are demanding an apology as well about that. If he is going for shock value, get a new gig. He is a great songwriter and guitar player, I give him that…but now that is not enough. When I hear his music I cannot separate his lack of intelligence and arrogance. Some people can look past that and separate the two, but this chick…not so much.

I love my girl carmen but any time it snows or any bad weather shes a no show. I make it ,others make it why cant she? She just bought an SUV. I’m sure that there a good reason, but cmon son!!!!!
